Why I’ve been Away

Another reason I’m posting here less is that the tumble blog works real well.  A lot of what I used to post was just stuff I though was cool, and wanted to share.  Well, the tumble log does that.

But today I saw this, and had to share.  I’m not paying to have this strip on my blog, but it illustrates just exactly what Americans don’t get about war in what Richard Maybury calls “Chaostan”.

These people have memories thousands of years old.  When you don’t have common law and decent institutions which make looking forward possible, you spend all your time looking backwards.  That’s what people in Chaostan do.  They hold grudges.  Forever.

So we’re at war in Afganistan, Iraq, and maybe Pakistan too, soon.  We are hurting and killing thousands of innocents.  Some are co-operating with us for now, but they have memories, and if they don’t get their fair share, whatever THEY define that to be, they will come back with a vengeance.

So, read the tumble log, and remember that they don’t forget.

One way to help them forget, is to let them move here.  Give them a future to look forward to and they won’t have so much time to look back.
